JOTS18 On Sale Now!

The Old Tuam Society is excited to announce that the 18th edition of the Journal of the Old Tuam Society is now in shops. We would like to express our gratitude to all our authors for sending in articles early so it hits the shelves earlier than usual. This year's edition runs to 116 pages of historic Tuam content.

As always we have an eclectic range of articles, with a strong cultural flavour, covering, art, music, film, sculpture, iconography, heraldry and architecture. There is also plenty for those with an interest in genealogy and military history. Special mention needs to be made on this centenary year as we recall the Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921 and the subsequent Civil War. The local dimension of that pivotal period is recounted in JOTS18, by Dr Jarlath Deignan and a companion piece by Midie Corcoran draws our attention to an interesting wedding photograph taken on the eve of the Civil War and the role of a member of his own family in those grave times.

JOTS will be on sale in our usual stockists: Centra Dublin Rd; Quinn's, SuperValu, and Sharkey's Bishop St; Joyce's Supermarket Abbey Trinity Road; Maxol Service Station, Church View from today. They can also be purchased at Ray O'Brien's Newsagent, William St Galway. For international orders
