As part of Tuam’s celebrations of the 400th anniversary of the granting of borough status, the Old Tuam Society, supported by Galway County Council, is pleased to announce a one day seminar entitled “Glimpses of Tuam Through the Centuries”. The seminar will cover many aspects of the town's history from the Bronze age up to modern times and will have something of interest for all.

The seminar will be held in Correlea Court Hotel,
The Square, Tuam, on the 28th of September, 2013 and will run from 10 am until
5.15 pm. Throughout the course of the day, 7 highly stimulating and interesting
lectures will give an insight into the development and history of the town.
Starting at the Bronze age, through the reign of the O’Connor High Kings, the
Reformation and right up to the 1920s, there is sure to be something to capture
the attention of all with an interest in history. The rich engineering history
of the town’s many mills and industries will be outlined, as well as the case
