September Lecture - Tuam Art Exhibitions 1942 -1948
The Old Tuam Society's 2012/13 programme commences with a lecture entitled, "Tuam Art Exhibitions 1942 - 1948". During this period, paintings from some of Ireland's best known artists were on exhibit in the town, a rare and remarkable occurrence. Artists of the calibre of Paul Henry and Louis Le Brocquy were just some of the now internationally famous names who exhibited and had paintings for sale in Tuam. As an added bonus, a selection of paintings by Jarlath A. O'Connell will be on display at Tuam Town Hall, prior to to lecture from 12 - 6 pm. This lecture will be delivered by Alison Titley (née O'Connell) on Thursday, the 20th of September at 8:00pm at Tuam Town Hall, The Square. Admission is free and all are welcome.
